Eagle Vision

Okay, Eagle Vision is the ability that tells the user how different people or objects relate to the user. If you didn't already know this ability originated from Assassin's Creed. This ability stemmed from people who descended from The People Who Came Before, which where thought to be the Roman or The Greek Gods. It was dubbed 'Eagle Vision' by the Assassins in Masyaf when they found out Altair possessed the ability to use Eagle Vision. This ability allows the user to tell the different between an illusion and reality. If someone trains to use Eagle Vision it has the ability to 'evolve' into a more advance Eagle Sense which allows you to sense where someone went wrong or even focus on one specific target.

Characters with Eagle Vision in Assassin's Creed are :

  • Altair (Assassin's Creed)
  • Ezio (Assassin's Creed 2-Revaltions)
  • Conner (Assassin's Creed 3)

Pyschokinesis

Pyschokinesis derives from the greek word 'pyscho' meaning mental and 'kinesis' meaning movement. This is the ability to control and move objects of solid matter. It is believed that it is possible to manipulate electrical or magnetic fields using the iron in your blood stream to move objects.

Fictional characters with pychokinesis are:

  • Andrew (Chronicle)
  • Hero (Fable)
  • Balthazar (Sorcerer's Apprentice)

Electrokinesis

Electrokinesis is the ability to control the movement of electricity with your mind. this can be done by manipulating electrical fields or individual particles. A person with electrokinesis theoretically has the ability to manipulate the electrical signals sent to muscle to move. This isn't really electrokinesis but and Electric Eel has two organs in its body which have the ability to produce a lethal and a non-lethal shock with a voltage up to 500V. A Platypus also has the ability to sense electrical signals in other animals by a row of cells in its bill called electroreceptors.

The ability to manipulate flames can be a by product of electrokinesis.

Fictional characters with electrokinesis:
  • Hero (Fable)
  • Cole MacGarth (inFamous)
  • Electro (Marvel)

Flight

Human flight is always thought as impossible and supernatural well from my research it could be and is possible. No, I don't mean Superman radicalise self propelled flight but more like a Flying Squirrels 'wings'. A Flying Squirrel has loose skin between its arm and legs this catches wind under the flap causing lift. Lift is when there is an uplifting force like smoke caused by fire or rising air.

Examples of fictional characters that can fly:
  • Superman (Superman)
  • Thor (Thor)
  • Hal Jordan (Green Lantern)

Telepathy

Telepathy derives from the Greek word Tele meaning distance and pathy originally pathe means affliction or experience. The idea was originally thought of in 1882 by Fredirc W. H. Myers who was a founder of Society of Psychical Research. Telepathy is the ability to read minds, implant images in minds, manipulate people by subliminal messages or even control a person.

This is apparently possible by secluding your self for many years away from any form civilisation including electrical devices or even people. After this as your mind is no longer familiar with foreign brain waves and you can pick them up using your brain. I couldn't find any reference to you being able to send your brain waves to them.

Fictional characters with telepathy :
  • Jedi (Star Wars)
  • Professor X (X-Men)

Super Strength

So this power goes without explanation its having super strength. This can be in many forms augmentation by having power suits/armour or bio-engineering, supernatural gifts or simple willpower. There are several examples in reality where people have had super strength all over the world there are people compete to see who is strongest with challenges like throwing heavy objects or even pulling 6-wheelers, that's right people pull 80 to 100 kilos with brakes ON! There is also video of a man, not the fittest man I might add, pulled a chopper out of a large puddle or small lake.

Here is a list of fictional characters with super strength:

  • John-117 (Halo)
  • Maine (Red vs Blue)
  • Superman (Superman)
  • Hancock (Hancock)

Flame Manipulation

The ability to control, manipulate and even in some cases create flames. Flame manipulation, also known as pyrokinesis or fire bending, is actually speeding up atoms to cause friction making fire they are then able to manipulate the this flame to make different shapes or changes its path. The powers of flame manipulation is believed to be amplified when in contact with a Garnet gem. It can aslo be a by-product of Electrokinesis.

There are known examples of people with the ability to manipulate fire. There was a African-American, A.W.Underwood, in the 19th Century who was well renown for spontaneously lighting objects on fire. Also in March 2011 in the Antique Province, Philippines there was evidence that a 3-year old girl who had the ability to say an item then fire and it would catch fire soon after. The Mayor of this province said he first had saw the girl say "pillow... fire" and a pillow in the room caught on fire.

Here is a list of fictional characters with the ability to manipulate and create fire:

  • Dovahkiin/Dragonborn (Skyrim)
  • Hero (Fable)

Welcome

Well I always liked superpowers and nonhuman like abilities, so when my teacher asked my class to start a blog I thought why not make a superpower themed blog. So for the next few weeks, or more if I get enough people reading this, I will research different superpowers and abilities and post my findings. I will be posting about powers like invisibility, flame manipulation, telekinesis, telepathy and more. I'll also take any suggestions and consider them as well.
